About Counselor Jana Henry, M.Ed., LPC

As a therapist, Jana works with adults from a variety of different backgrounds, religions, and sexual orientations. She is devoted to helping clients learn how to establish boundaries, communicate assertively, and discover their best self.

Jana's work within the medical field began after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 1994. Jana spent over ten years in the fields of cytogenetics, clinical laboratory work, chromosome analysis, management, recruitment, and marketing. A family move took her overseas to Indonesia, where she was able to work as a relocation counselor, helping expat families adjust to a new culture.
Upon returning to the United States, Jana decided to pursue her original career interest of mental health. Jana has always had a passion for understanding people and wanted to have a more direct impact on others' lives. In 2009 she returned to school to pursue her Master of Education in Counseling degree at the University of Houston - Victoria. Jana began her counseling practicum experience in January 2011 and completed her Master of Education degree in 2012. Jana is currently an owner and partner at West Houston Counseling Center, PLLC where she sees therapy clients and also trains other therapists in EMDR in her work as an EMDR Approved Consultant.
Jana truly believes that people have the power to make positive changes in their lives; she is committed to helping people move in this direction. It only takes one person to start a cascade of positive changes within a couple or a family. Within her counseling services, Jana encourages clients to start the process of making their lives what they want them to be now.
